The End of Ćaciland: 25 October 2026. By Michael Wuertenberg

In March 2025, a purported student camp consisting of tents and portable toilets was set up in Pionirski Park in central Belgrade by SNS supporters, with the blessing of Aleksandar Vučić. The fake camp soon earned the nickname “Ćaciland”, utilizing a derogatory Serbian term roughly equivalent to a clueless, good-for-nothing student. A single glance revealed that the site did not house Serbia's intellectual elite, but rather criminals, hooligans, and older men with a high potential for violence. The secured camp was guarded by police until yesterday evening, while also serving as a retreat for security forces preparing to deploy against students. Following the election defeat of Aleksandar Vučić on 25 October 2026, angry crowds marched into Pionirski Park, set the tents on fire, and took plastic chairs as souvenirs before student movement marshals extinguished the flames and urged calm with the appeal that they do not want Serbia to burn.
