No more rallies at the communists' UFO.
The abandoned flying saucer of the Bulgarian Communist Party stands in a place that is steeped in history and was built in 1981 on Mount Buzludzha. Officially named the House-Monument of the Bulgarian Communist Party better known as the UFO, it was left to crumble after the fall of the communist regime in 1989. In 2021, the ruins were conserved with the assistance of the Technical University of Munich, UNESCO and the Buzludzha Project Foundation. 13. September 2024 By Michael Wuertenberg
